Banner Rotator for the Ads-Theme-Template!

I'm currently using the Ads-Theme-Template and I manage to add new good features in it. I've already done a lot of enhancement to this template just to fit my needs and requirements. I've added GIF animation with my banner ads particularly with my 125 x 125 banner ads. I've also manage to resolve all the issues with regards to this templates. Basically i've enhanced and improve this template to make it more useful and manageable.

I just want to share to you my latest enhancement to this Ads-Theme-Template which you will only find in this blog. I've added a banner rotator to this template which will rotate continuously as the page is being loaded. Which means that I will save space in my blog and I can maximize the space in my header. If you want to see it I placed it on the top right page of my blog, you will see a 468 x 60 banner ad and if you will try to reload this page again then you will see that it changes to another type of banner ad. I set it to change sequentially to showcase my ads and share it to others.

I'm currently sharing the Ads-Theme-Template in one of my links here but I have not included yet the banner rotator feature. I dont know if others will be interested to this that is why I havent included it yet. I know that there are others that dont like ads and I'm thinking that I will just give them some option if in case that they want it to.

I can share this to you if you want. Just let me know and I can arrange for an email copy of this ENHANCED-ADS-THEME-TEMPLATE (with banner rotator).

Entrecard Features Status Experiment

Today I bought from Entrecard.com the Featured Status and it cost me 750ec credits. I just want to know if this will benefit me or not. Right now to advetise on my blog will cost you 32ec credit and I will check on this again if this will got up or not.

They were saying that this featured status will give you visibility among others because your entrecard will be highlighted with a yellow border just like this one on the right. This might catch some attention.

This is just a small experiment from me to see if this featured status will add more traffict to my site or will give more visibility to attract entrecard advertisement. My simple experiment cost me 750ec credits but since i've accumulated thousands of credits already and right now i'm just using those credits just to place ads from others website. I though why not give this a try if it works or not.

My current page rank right now is PR1 and I have 32ec if you will place an ads with my blog thru entrecard. This featured status will last for 7 days and I will again post an update on this if my simple experiment works or not.

How to register your .OCX and .DLL files in VISTA

CLICK the START and ALL PROGRAMS then ACCESSORIES the hover the COMMAND PROMPT then right CLICK then choose RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR. This is important that you run as administrator otherwise this will not work.

from the command line type the following:

REGSVR32 /V then your .OCX or .DLL name

example:

REGSVR32 /V JETAC.OCX

Customized icon for my blog

Are you a blogger? Are you eager to uniquely customize the appearance of your blog? Then this one is for you.

I will share to you the small but significant improvements is changing tab icon. This is the one shown on the upper left side just before the name of your blog when you loan it using your browser. I'm sure most of you haven't known yet how to do it. I will share to you how I changed my blogger tab icon, from default Blogger icon to my own icon. I have successfully implemented it in my blog so I'm sure they will work for you too.

Recently, I had changed my tab icon of my blogger site. It used to be a common blogger icon which is an orange rectangle with the white letter B inside it. I changed it into my custom made icon which I personally design using a software. I did it because I wanted my site to be more representing my personality, not Blogspot's. I will share you how I did it, just in case you want to try them, or just add them to your mountainous pile of knowledge.

1. I made a .PNG file using adobe fireworks but you can also use Microsoft Paint if you dont have one in your PC. It was 128 x 128 pixels in size. It did not have to be that size, I set it like that just to make it easier for me to draw everything I want, as it was big enough for my eyes. This .PNG file was the embryo or my icon. You can use another .PNG drawing tool if you want. It will be faster if you can directly make the .ICO file, as you can skip the next step and go directly to the third step. I would have done it if I had the tool, I swear :D

2. I converted the .PNG file created earlier to an .ICO files.

3. I uploaded the icon file into the WEB where I can store my files and will provide me direct URL link. I just copied the direct link for the next step. You can use other image hosting service if you like, just remember to get the direct link. However you cannot use Photobucket for this, since they do not support .ICO files. The word "icon" does not collocate with the word "photo".

4. I added this bolded tag on my template. To access it, I used the menu "edit html" in layout section. I put them in head section, between "title" tag and "b:skin" tag. If you face difficulties in finding the tag, just use finding tool in your browsers. For Mozilla Firefox, the shortcut is ctrl+f. If you use another browsers, apply with adaptation.

How to UPLOAD Ads-Theme-Template

Since most of you want to know how to use/upload this Ads-Theme-Template I think it is best to post a detailed instruction on how to properly use/upload it.

Step 1: Download this template in one of my post and save it in your computer. This is the link for the download:

Step 2: If you are using BLOGGER/BLOGSPOT then you need to login to your account first and go to your dashboard and click LAYOUT and then EDITHTML.

It should look like this:

Step 3: Once you click the EDITHTML it will show you a button for the UPLOAD. But before you click on the upload button please be sure to make a backup of your existing template so that if ever you make a mistake you can easily go back to your old template. The UPLOAD image should look like this:

Step 4: After uploading you can click the save button and check if it is already working. If you are successful then you can now start editing the template and put all you widget codes, meta tags, analytics codes, etc.

Sometimes during editing you might encounter some errors and most of it would be HTML errors. The HTML errors are commonly created when you inserted or omitted a character like (") and (') or (<). Do you still keep you records for the currency exchange rates? If not then this post will surely help you because I will include here in my post the US DOLLAR to PESO exchange rates since 1970’s to current year. Yes you read it right 1970’s, bet you don’t have that records!

The rates are available on a yearly basis, monthly and daily and it is an end of the period rate. For the monthly and daily rates I will not post it here yet because of the volume of the data but I can make it as downloadable in PDF form or in an EXCEL format.

Did you know that in 1970’s the exchange rate was as low as P6.435 : US$ 1.00

Just like my other posting here this article will help you to easily check the dollar exchange rates to the specific dates that you want. You can use this for valuation, revaluation, accounting reference and many more.

Performancing Ads a Scam?

Have you been scammed lately? As I was trying to surf the net I came across with this article regarding Performancing Ads. It was being claimed that he was scammed by Performancing Ads for not paying him anything. Actually this is not my first time to see an article regarding Performancing Ads problem when it comes to payments. I think theres a lot out there who are now having problem with Performancing Ads.

My only problem with them is that I got one referal but until now my $10 is not yet showing up. As of now no booking yet on my 125x125 Ads space. I tried testing the self booking but everytime I tried Performancing Ads is not showing up on my site. I think the problem is with the system.

I will still give them some more time to see if things will work out otherwise I will just conclude that performancing ads is really a scam and will not bring you good.

Just think of it, have you got any single booking on your ads with performancing ads? or have you been paid with your booking if you already got one, or even for your affiliate referals? I think all of us have this problem. So what are we waiting for?

Graphics and icon for my site

I'm trying to experiment on my new icon image for my blog. This is a 125 x 125 size which is the most commonly used size for a banner type icon. I tried using graphic tricks to manipulate my image to give me the desired output. For this one I put some image reflection to make it looks like a mirror reflection.

This is my first time to create a graphic image and the tools that I used is quite user friendly that is why I did not have difficulty in making one. I also tried to make some variations on the images and I think the simpler it is the better it will look nice. I will try some more on the graphic tools to just have fun on working on image manipulation and creation.

I find this one interesting and very easy to create. You can also try it for your blog or site. I think it will add some distinction to your blog. Marketing wise it will also helps you promote your blog thru image or icons. Remember icons can make your site or blog being remembered easily.

There a lot of software out there that you can use to edit, create, and manipulate graphics and most of them are free and user friendly. For this one i'm using Adobe Fireworks CS3. I'm still working to on this software because this is my first time to use it.

Have you seen my Google PageRank? A few weeks ago I was so happy to know that I am now being indexed by Google for PageRank ranking although I got zero (0) PageRank for the start and this is much better that N/A rank.

I'm using PRCHECKER.INFO for my Google PageRank button. With this site you will be able to know your PageRank status. The following are common results if you try to check your own site PageRank:

N/A -meaning your site are not being indexed by Google yet for PageRank. With this PRCHECKER.INFO will not give you code for your PageRank button and you won’t be able to display your PageRank to you site.
0/10 but not Grayed -meaning your site is currently being indexed but your PageRank is still zero (0).
1-10 and with green -congratulations! your site is now being ranked.

Yesterday when I visited my site I saw that my PageRank was displaying a ?/10 grayed button. I was surprised because I was expecting that from zero (0) PageRank I will eventually have a 1-10 greened PageRank. I don’t know if this happens to you guys but I will remain positive about it and will continue to search for some answers for this.

We are currently implementing SAP Business One in our company and it is very promising. Once fully implemented we will be very much efficient and effective in analyzing our figures and results of our financial transactions.

The goodness of this software among others are the following noticeable features:

1. You can create additional fields and at the same time link it to an existing table or you can also create a new one for it. This field can function just like the ordinary field data and can also have look-ups when it is linked to a table.

2. You can upload data from its template. This is one of the good things of this software; you are not limited to its user interface especially if you are uploading voluminous transactions.

3. It also has great drill-down features. You can easily see the details of the transactions up to its source documents.

4. SAP Business One incorporates the Drag-and-Relate features that automatically generate reports based on the data relationship. Very nice feature and it just simplify the common process.

If you are looking for better software that can deliver the results that you want then this one is for you. The price is very affordable (meaning cheap) but the good features are all there.

Savings for the rainy days

For me savings is one of the most important thing that you need to setup well because in times of need you can have something to pull-out. Most of the people are having some difficulty in setting up savings fund because of two these three reasons:

1. Lack of motivation to oblige oneself to save
2. Lack of obligation to build-up the savings fund
3. Lack of knowledge on how to maximize the potential of the savings fund

Motivation is the primary tool that you need to have to start building your savings fund. But building is one thing and you also need to oblige yourself to make regular deposits to your savings fund in order for it to grow and accumulate.

Now once your savings fund started to build up already then you need to maximize its potential to earn. There are lots of way to make your saving earn more than just leaving it to the bank to earn 1% interest per annum (that’s one year). Imagine 1% for one whole year, that’s very small if you are going to maximize its potential to earn.

Taxes are so many and in order for you to know how it is computed then you need to identify first the type of taxes. The type of taxes varies depending on the type of taxable entity and the type of income sources.

For the type of entity these are the following:
1. Corporation
2. Partnership
3. Sole Proprietorship
4. Individual
5. Estates

For the type of income sources the following are some examples:
1. Sales from the ordinary trade of business
2. Income from sale of assets
3. Income from sale of stocks
4. Interest Income
5. Other income

For the type of taxes the following are some examples:
1. Income Tax
2. Excise Tax
3. Value Added Tax
4. Percentage Tax
5. Withholding Tax
6. Fringe Benefit Tax
7. Capital Gains Tax
8. Final Tax

So if we can easily make a matrix base on the above items or information. The type of taxes depends on the type of taxable entity and the type of its income sources. The tax rates varies depending on the type of tax and sometimes taxes are computed using a tax table so those rates also vary on a specific type of tax. Tax with single tax rate are very straight forward when it comes to computation, all you need to do is just multiply the taxable amount with the tax rate and you will get the tax due or tax payable. For those taxes that are table driven taxes are computed base on their taxable amount brackets. The tax table bracket contains the taxable amount range from and to and the rate of tax.

For the type of applicable tax to you or to your company you need to consult an accountant for that so that you can properly plan your tax. Tax planning is very important because it will save you a lot of money. You should know what type of taxes have more advantageous for you and for the type of income that you’re generating. If you choose the wrong type of tax for you then you might end-up paying more than you should have been. Sometimes you might enjoy paying less at the moment because of the type of tax that you choose but if that type of tax is not the appropriate one for you then you will end-up paying more thru Internal Revenue Assessment.

System and Hardware

This article is in relation to the earlier article that I wrote regarding ‘How to choose a good system’.

Before you finalize your decision on buying a good system (i.e. accounting system) you must first know what are the things you need to prepare or consider for. A good system is a combination of good software and a good hardware infrastructure. These two must both exist for you to harmonize the good benefits from it.

For the system or software you need to prepare yourself for the type of database that you are going to use because depending on the database that your people know is the key to a better system performance. The different databases for your backend are MS SQL, Oracle, Foxpro, MySQL, etc.

For the hardware, you need to have a good but not so expensive hardware infrastructure. This will include your servers (data, system, and internet), structured cabling, HUB, and client PC’s for the users. Normally the specifications of the hardware always depend on the weight of the system and the number of users that will access the data. The bigger the system and the bigger the number of users the higher the specification that you need for the hardware.

You also need to consider the type of connection that you are going to use, like for example is the DIALUP, DSL, LEASED LINE, VPN, etc.

For the maintenance you need to have a competent IT technical staff for the server administration. This person must have technical knowledge in maintaining database servers because this is the most critical part. You need to secure your data and to make sure that you have back-ups in case of data disaster.

I just want to share my experience with you for the selection of a good or should I say better system solutions for your company. My experience in the system solution selection is very wide now considering I my experiences in the past. If you are already considering changing your current system of your company then you better read the following informative tips and equipped yourself with the right knowledge for a better decision making.

First you need to understand your company’s financial information capabilities and weaknesses because this is very critical to selecting the appropriate system solution. The more you know about the challenges you expect the software to solve, the more informed decision you will make.

After you familiarized yourself with the company’s financial information capabilities and weaknesses then you can now look for a good system that can address all your needs in a very practical way but still using the best industry practices.

In selecting a system or software you need to consider a lot of things and the following list will help or guide you:

2. What is your budget? This is very critical because a good system is very expensive

Start Building your Links

Building a link is one of the most important think to do to get a good page rank for your site. This will make your site popular and active and visible. There are different types of link like the most popular backlinks, reciprocal links, text links, etc.

Almost all of the search engine are using this links to determine how big is your network and how popular is your site to others with the same interest as yours. We all want our site to be rank as one of the top popular sites with Google, Yahoo, Live Search, etc. So what we need to do is to understand how these links works and how it will help us developed our good pagerank.

Two of the three big search engines place a large importance on one way links to determine rankings. Each link to your site is like a vote and the more votes you have, the higher you will rank. In this article I will be sharing with you some important info on link building and some strategies to help your one way link building.

Before we get started, it's important to understand the fundamentals. Beginning with the very basics, a link is a way of navigating from one webpage to another. An 'internal link' is a link within the same website. An 'external link' takes you from a webpage in one website to a webpage in another website. The term 'backlink' means when another website links to yours.

There are 4 different types of links:

URL Link - This is simply a website url that is a link. i.e. ttp://talk2mycpa.blogspot.com/

Text Links (aka static links) - This is the most common type of link (when you click on a word or phrase and it is a link)

Image Links - An image link is simply an image that you click on to navigate to another webpage.

Dynamic Links - These types of links are in another programming language called Javascript and while they also take you from one webpage to another, they have 'extra codes' to perform special functions.(these types of links can appear in many different forms)

It is important to be able to recognize these types of links, even if you are not familiar with web design and programming. You don't have to memorize the codes, just learn to identify each type of link.

Links provide navigation for human visitors and for 'spiders' (aka: crawlers, robots, bots). Simply put, a spider is a computer program that goes to websites and gathers information. Search engines use spiders to visit and 'index' your website. This means that they gather information about your site in order to líst it in their search results.

When the search engine spiders index your website, they follow the links to get from one webpage to another. It's important to know that search engines cannot follow 'dynamic links' and do not follow html links that have a special code in them that says 'no follow'.

The place where 'no follow' is commonly found is in the "meta tags" section of the website. Simply put, meta tags are information that is for the spiders only and is not seen by human visitors. You can see the code for any website in your browser by choosing 'view source'. (From Internet Explorer, choose Page > View Source. From Firefox choose View > Page Source)

If a search engine spider cannot follow a link from another website to yours, you can still receive visitors but the link will not have any value from a search engine optimization perspective.

What types of links should you get?

There are 2 types of links that you can get:

One-way links - A one-way link is when another website links to you and you don't link back to them.

Reciprocal links - A reciprocal link is when a website links to you and you link back to them.

One-way links are more valuable in the eyes of the search engines. However, each link has its own individual value based on: how relevant it is to your site, the text in and around the link, how much authority the website that links to you has, etc.

Also, it's important to know that you can get links that have 'no value' in the eyes of the search engines, but they bring you hundreds or thousands of targeted visitors...

Generally speaking, the more websites that link to you the better. However, building links takes time and energy and if you focus on getting 'high-quality links', you will get a bigger return on your investment. 50 high quality links can be much more valuable from a search engine optimization perspective than 1000 'low quality links'.

What's a high quality link? - Links that brings you Page Reputation (which shows the search engines that other related websites consider you to be important), and links that give you PageRank. Sometimes both at once, sometimes not...

To get high rankings on your website, you want to obtain links for targeted keywords. For this reason it's necessary to start with Keyword Research.

If your website is about "bird watching", the first step is to 'do keyword research' and find out which keyword you should aim for. While you could just start getting text links for the keyword phrase "bird watching", if no one is searching for that - you won't get any visitors. There's no sense in ranking on the first page for a keyword that no one is looking for.

Or, if there is a lot of competition for that keyword, you might want to pick a "lower hanging fruit".

Another important part is making sure your page is optimized for the keyword you are targeting. If you are focused on building one way links to your site but the links have anchor text which doesn't even appear on your page, you will likely be wasting your time. (I say likely assuming that you have some competition for your targeted keywords, if there is no competition then it doesn't matter).

In this case a site that has fewer one way links but much better on-page optimization is likely to rank higher. Or maybe you are building one way links to your site but they are just url links and not anchor-text links. Another site that has less links than you but better quality (anchor-text) will be likely to rank higher.

Ideally, you want to build a lot of one way links that have anchor text which includes the primary and secondary keywords that your page is optimized for. Google also uses Latent Semantic Indexing which (in a nutshell) means that they study the synonyms of the keywords on your page. This is to prevent spammers from just loading every second word with their keywords. Their algorithm looks at all the words on your page and how they relate to each other.

So, there's no sense in building one way links if your content is not worthwhile. You want to optimize your pages for your visitors first. Then, you can go through and "sprinkle" your keywords. Then, go out and get one way links with the anchor-text of your targeted keywords, ideally getting most of these links from websites that are related to yours.

Yes, Google also looks at the relationship between your website's content and the websites that link to your content. Fewer links to your business site from other business sites will be more valuable link-wise than more links coming to you from a site about video games..

Don't make these link building mistakes:

Don't spend all your time getting one way links from sites with no Page Rank. One or two links from related Page Rank 5+ sites can be worth more than 100 links from sites with no PR.

Be careful about buying links or you can get banned. Especially be careful about Site Wide links. If your website only has a few backlinks one day and the next day you have hundreds, Google will see this and penalize you.

Don't spend all your time building one way links that are url-links, you want to get anchor-text links.Make sure the links you get are actually worth something, don't get "No-Follow" links.

The Power of Keywords

Keyword density is an indicator of the number of times the selected keyword appears in the web page. But mind you, keywords shouldn’t be over used, but should be just sufficient enough to appear at important places.

If you repeat your keywords with every other word on every line, then your site will be rejected as an artificial site or spam site.

Keyword density is always expressed as a percentage of the total word content on a given web page. Suppose you have 100 words on your webpage (not including HMTL code used for writing the web page), and you use a certain keyword five times in the content. The keyword density on that page is obtained by simply dividing the total number of keywords, by the total number of words that appear on your web page. So here it is 5 divided by 100 = .05. Because keyword density is a percentage of the total word count on the page, multiply the above by 100, that is 0.05 x 100 = 5%

We recommend a keyword density between 4% and 8%, to get recognized by the search engines try not to exceed this. Remember, this rule applies to every page on your site. It also applies to not just to one keyword but also a set of keywords that relates to a different product or service. The keyword density should always be between 4% and 8%.

The more important keywords should be not only included in the copy of the page, but in the following areas of the document:

1. URL title, this is found in the html code of the document
2. Meta keywords and description, these are also located in the source of your HTML document.
3. Page Headings, in this case the page heading is "The Power of Keywords"

Try and include your keywords in link text, this will help give the document greater keyword strength for your top terms.

A Simple Software for your remittance need

I just want to share a program that I personally made to help me in filling-up the banks remittance forms/fund transfer/manager's check request. This is very much usefull in making foreign currency remittances because you no longer need to memorize all the bank details like account name, account address, account numbers, bank name, bank address, IBAN, SWIFT, SORT CODE, BIC CODE, etc. basically all the bank details that are needed are already stored in a database. Yes this system is very small and simple and already equiped with a database functionality. I use an ACCESS database for this one because I think most of the users are using Microsoft Office so the ACCESS database is already there and available.

You can use all type of currency and all are automatic including the amount in words.

Currently i'm using Metrobank and Unionbank forms for the printing of transactions.

Please see the screenshot below for the system interface:

I erased the portion of the LOGO but you can use your own LOGO if you want. I also erased the user name that is currently LOGIN. In the actual system you can actually see the current users name.

Paypal and Unionbank EON Account

I now have a Paypal Verified Account

I recently applied for a paypal account and it is very simple and in an instant I created my Paypal account. But upon creation it is tagged as UNVERIFIED. But thats fine with me because all I need to do is to link my credit card or debit card to make it VERIFIED. There are advantages of making your account verified because your account limit will be lifted and you will also increase your customers confidence. Please note that UNVERIFIED account works fine except that you are subject to limits but among other things it is still working as a good account. I open my Paypal account because it is much easier to transact online with Paypal and most of the online users out there also have a Paypal account and they are using it well.

Good news for Filipinos because Paypal are now accepting members from the Philippines. We can now actually send and receive money over the internet and transact business worldwide. You can now easily fund your Paypal account by using your credit cards or debit card. As for withdrawals, that’s the most excellent news. You can withdraw money (commissions, remittances or payments) using the debit cards offered by one of our leading local banks. You can now use Unionbank’s EON Cyber Account both to fund and withdraw money. Of course, there are fees of all sorts but for the sake of online transaction efficiency, safety and convenience, it's worth the take.

How to connect Paypal with your Unionbank EON Account?

1. First you need to have a Paypal Account. If you don’t have one and plans to do business online or has an existing one, I suggest you sign-up here and get a personal account.

2. After signing with Paypal, visit any branch of Unionbank to apply for an EON Cyber Account. Before, they are offering it online through their website but for now it is temporarily unavailable so the best thing to do is to open it through their nearest branch with you. The card can be picked-up after 3 to 5 banking days from the branch where you open your account. When you open an account be sure you bring two (2) valid I.D.s with their photocopies and at least 500pesos for initial deposit (though initial deposit is not required). I will explain later why you need to deposit initially.

3. When you have your card and have deposited an initial amount, go to Unionbank’s Official Website to get your EON Cyber Account enrolled to internet banking. After enrolling your account, it takes 48 hours for you to login and start online banking. You can’t skip this one, so you have to wait.

4. When your account is already active, go back to Paypal and add your EON Cyber Account. Paypal will charge you with $1.95 as an Expanded Use Fee (use to verify your accounts real existence and this is the reason why you need to have an initial deposit). After 3-4 banking days (since the day you added the card to your Paypal Account), login to your Unionbank EON cyber account through internet banking to get your Expanded Use Number. If you have no other transaction then you will see there two transaction from Paypal and look for the FOUR (not three and definitely not the 890) digit number in one of the transaction and that is your Expanded Use Number. How to Make Links in Excel

There are three (3) types of links that you can make in excel and these are the following:
1. CELL to CELL link in the same worksheet
2. WORKSHEET to WORKSHEET link within the same File
3. WORKSHEET to WORKSHEET link of different File

Linking is commonly used to get data that you need from the already existing data. This is done to avoid re-typing of the same information when it is already available. Most of the time this is being used to summarized results coming from different data worksheets and cells.

Here is how to make a CELL to CELL link:

Position your mouse pointer to the CELL where you want to make a link. Once you are already at your desired CELL position just press the equal (=) sign and CLICK to the CELL where you want to make a link with or you can also use the arrow keys to locate the CELL where you want to make a link then press enter when you’re done. Alright! You already now have a link between CELL to CELL.

Under the formula bar it will look like this: =C1

Here is how to make a WORKSHEET to WORKSHEET link within the same file:

The procedure is the same a the above but this time you will now link to a CELL in a different worksheet. Just position your mouse pointer to the CELL where you want to make a link then press equal sign (=) then click to a differect worksheet where you want to get your link then click to the CELL where you want to make a link.

Under the formula bar it will look like this: = Sheet2!C1

Here is how to make a WORKSHEET to WORKSHEET link of different file:

You need to have two sets of excel files open. The procedure is the same a above but this time after pressing the equal sign (=) you need to clink on the file then select the worksheet where you want to get the data then click on the CELL where your data is located then press enter. Alright you can now make links from anywhere within excel.

Under the formula bar it will look like this: =+'C:\[Book2.xls]Sheet1'!$C$1

What is DEBIT and CREDIT?

The standard entry that we are using right now is the double entry system. With this system we normally utilized the usage of the debit/s and the credit/s in recording accounting transactions. The debit and the credit may increase or decrease the balance of an account depending on the type of the account being used. This recording of transaction is called ACCOUNTING ENTRY.

What is an accounting entry looks like?

DEBIT CREDIT
Cash in bank 1,000
Accounts receivable 1,000

-this is to record collection of accounts amounting to 1,000

What are the classifications of accounts and their example?

There are five major classifications of accounts and these are the following:

1. ASSETS (cash in bank, accounts receivables, inventories)
2. LIABILITIES (accounts payables, loans payables)
3. STOCKHOLDERS’ EQUITY (common stocks subscribed, issued, retained earnings)
4. REVENUES (sales, income)
5. EXPENSES (salaries, rentals, utilities, depreciation)

What is the effect of DEBIT and CREDIT to the accounts?

ASSET has a normal balance of DEBIT. When you want to increase the balance of an asset then you need to debit it and when you want to decrease its balance then you need to credit it. This is the same for EXPENSES which also has a normal balance of DEBIT.
A LIABILITY has a normal balance of CREDIT. When you want to increase the balance of a liability then you need credit is and when you want to decrease its balance then you need to debit it. This is also the same for STOCKHOLDERS’ EQUITY and REVENUES.
